The Allahabad High Court has rejected the appeal for deferring the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid case verdict and the 60-year case verdict will be announced on September 24.The verdict for one of the most sensitive disputes of India would decide whether a Masjid was built over the temple or not.Ramesh Chandra Tripathi appealed that the verdict of the case should be delayed because it would lead to dispute and breaking of law and order.
However, the court in turn imposed Rs. 10 lakh fine on the petitioner because it found no plus point in the appeal.Leaders of the ruling Congress, main opposition Telugu Desam Party, the Praja Rajyam, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India-Marxist, the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and the Bharatiya Janata Party attended the meeting.
While thanking the people for their cooperation in maintaining peace during Ramadan, the meeting urged people to also ensure peace during Ganesh immersion.The verdict on the 60- year-old Ayodhya title suits to determine who owns the disputed land is being awaited with eagerness by both the Muslims and Hindus and with consternation by the governments tasked to prevent riots over the issue.
